Goodness, has this year been fun. If you had told me in January everything I would have experienced this year - both good and bad - I don't know if I would have been able to handle it. But man, this was a good year. I'm so thankful for a God who takes care of me and continues to lead me through this crazy life. He's the best! JanuaryI was able to take some photos for beautiful Katherina in January. And also for Sara when she sported a new 'do! :) FebruaryIn February I photographed a couple of engagement sessions and some senior photos! MarchIn March I turned 21! My sister took some photos of me for my birthday which was super sweet. :) This month I also took more senior photos and some portraits for fun. And I spent a lot of time getting ready for my Senior exhibit taking place in April. AprilApril was filled with lots of senior sessions! And a proposal + engagement which I'll never forget. And I hosted my Mister & Misses senior exhibit! MayMay was my kickoff to wedding season! I had the privelege of second shooting for Allie Siarto, my best friend got married (!!!), and I photographed some old highschool friends' wedding. JuneIn June I photographed a beautiful treehouse wedding in Grand Rapids and later that month I had a one-on-one mentoring session with Nicole Balsamo. As part of that, we had a styled shoot with the lovely Ashley Hanson. JulyJuly consisted of coffee dates with my good friend Gabby where we talked about God and took photos (that was the best!). There was also a Hillsong concert which was incredible, and another beautiful outdoor wedding in the Chicago suburbs. AugustIn August I photographed a couple of portrait sessions. SeptemberSeptember was filled with fun sessions for the blog, like my shoot with fitness trainer Justice Wipff, and an incredible trip to Utah for a workshop. OctoberAh October! The fall colors and smells were so nice and refreshing. We went apple picking with some good friends, photographed some portrait sessions and an engagement session as well. NovemberOh November! This month was filled with a super duper fun trip to Arizona, gorgeous engagement sessions, portrait sessions, and just a lot of fun in general. DecemberBoy has December been something else!! It's been full of blessings and I'm just so grateful for this entire year. I was featured on How He Asked, have been able to work with some amazing creatives like Alyssa Kristin Bridal and Jill Christine Studio, and photograph amazing couples who came to visit the city. If you made it to the end of this recap, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for believing in me and for supporting my work. It really means a lot. You're awesome!

Goofy, fun, happy, and crazy in love. That's how I would describe Aly + Zach. They're highschool sweethearts and sweet they are! Having the opportunity to meet them in Phoenix for an engagement session was so fun. Love you guys! Are you recently engaged? I'd love to take your engagement photos for you! Email me at [email protected] to schedule your session!
The way I met Aislinn was completely spontaneous and I firmly believe it was orchestrated by God. Saturday night I was spending time with my family when I had a sudden thought, "You should check the Pursuit 31 facebook page and see if there are any referral posts". So, I did. Aislinn had just posted a request for a photographer to take some engagement photos for her and her fiancé. He had just proposed that morning! And they were leaving to go back to Georgia the following afternoon. I quickly added my comment to the list and minutes later, she had replied. We quickly scheduled a shoot for the following morning, in the midst of the snowstorm that was already in motion. And it was so worth it. Aislinn + James are two of the sweetest people I've met. They were in town for his birthday, but the trip ended with a celebration for the both of them. :) And their engagement photos have become some of my absolute favorites! They've become other people's favorites too. The sneak peek I shared on my Instagram that night received so much engagement, and two days later their proposal story was featured on How He Asked! How cool is that?! Thank you so much Aislinn + James for asking me to be a part of this special moment in your lives! Congratulations to you both! <3 Are you recently engaged? I'd love to take your engagement photos! Email me at [email protected] to schedule your session.
A few weeks ago Lyndon and I had the chance to visit Arizona to photograph some families and an engagement shoot! It was one of the most incredible experiences and I instantly fell in love with AZ. I’ve noticed this trend where whenever I visit the West, I fall in love (i.e. my trip to Utah in September). We started the trip in Scottsdale/Phoenix where we photographed some families at Papago Park – one of the coolest places to explore. The families we worked with were so sweet! And the weather…so beautiful – warm, blue skies…! Pretty opposite from Michigan’s weather right now. And I jumped at the chance to get some photos of me too. :) Then that afternoon we started driving towards the Grand Canyon which we planned to see at sunrise the next morning. We stopped at Sedona on the way there, right around dusk and IT WAS GORGEOUS. Guys, God is THE most breathtaking artist that I know. Sabbath morning we started driving again at 6 AM to make it to the Grand Canyon for sunrise. IT WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I’VE EVER SEEN. I totally flipped. I completely underestimated the beauty of this place, it was absolutely phenomenal. If you’ve never been to the Grand Canyon, you need to add it to your bucket list. I’m still not sure if I can cross it off of mine because I want to go back and see Horseshoe Bend, the Skywalk, and hike the Bright Angel Trail with some close friends. The next day we photographed a stunning engagement shoot at Veterans Oasis Park with Aly + Zach (their blog post will be up next Wednesday!). They are two of the sweetest people and I loved working with them so much. And to end the trip, Lyndon suggested that we climb Camelback Mountain and I’m SO glad we did! It was by far, the best way to end the trip. We saw Phoenix from above at sunset + dusk and my heart wouldn’t stop beating from the beauty of it (and also from all of the adrenaline from climbing 2,000 feet…). <3 I’m so grateful to have the chance to travel and work with amazing people all around the world. God has truly blessed me beyond how I ever imagined and I’m so glad He’s the One leading me. HE’S THE BEST. Thank you to everyone who made our trip to AZ so sweet! Love you guys! <3
