Melody and Crystal are the sweetest pair of sisters you'll meet, and it was a pleasure taking some photos for them! They scheduled a mini session with me in one of Berrien's vineyards and we had a blast getting some shots during golden hour. If you're interested in scheduling a mini session, I only have TWO dates left! Schedule yours by emailing me at [email protected] and I'll give you all of the details. :) Thank you Melody and Crystal for asking me to take your photos, I enjoyed our time together!

There’s so much that goes into styling a wedding: the floral arrangements, lights, the seating arrangement display, reception favors, etc. You spend all of this time, energy, and money into making sure that every detail is perfect and on the day of your wedding it all looks beautiful! But, when it’s all said and done, what happens to it all? Lucky for you, there are a few things you can do and you might even be able to earn some of your money back! Ruffled blog has a wonderful tab on their site labeled “Recycle Your Wedding”. You can list any décor, fashion, favor, or paper good items here and earn some money back! It’s a really cool idea and I’m impressed they thought of it. Help another bride in search of her own décor and stash that cash away for your next trip together (or you could pay the bills)! Create a Keepsake Box: Store the special memories from your day (such as your bouquet, garter, and wedding programs) in a clear box that you can store on top of a dresser or in a picture frame to be hung on the wall. Photo courtesy of @chelsealovescoffee Donate leftover décor to other engaged couples who may be in a bend and not able to afford much. They’ll appreciate the gift so much and nothing can beat that! Gift your leftover flowers to the elderly at nursing homes! I promise it’ll make their day so much brighter. And if you’re not planning on keeping your wedding dress, consider donating it to a military bride via Brides Across America. These brides sometimes only have a short time to plan a wedding and get married before their fiancé leaves for service and your donation would make their day that much more meaningful! If you do decide to try any of these options I would love to hear about your experience! Let me know how it goes by emailing me at [email protected].
Ashley and Daniel are two of the sweetest and most enjoyable people you will ever meet. Their entire day was filled with elements that resembled their personality, making the celebration fun and easygoing for everyone! There were cake pops from Tim Horton's, serenades and spontaneous slow-dances, and camelback rides. The ceremony and reception took place at the Bissell Tree House at the John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, which provided a gorgeous background and venue! It was a day I will never forget. Thank you so much Ashley and Daniel for asking me to be a part of your day!! Ashley + Daniel's Story: "Daniel and I met by God's leading every step of the way. While he was away at grad school, I was in his hometown making friends with his brother and sister and eventually his whole family and friend group all while he was away. After he graduated he decided to take a job back home so he came back to Michigan that summer. Because I was already friends with his friends and family, when he came home it completed the picture. We started off with the group but as we got to know each other as friends we started to realize there was something special between us. A year earlier I had asked God about my future husband and how long would I have to wait? He told me that I would meet him, whoever he was, the following summer. One year later I was looking at Daniel on our first date while he played guitar and we laid in the sand and asking God, "Is this him? Is this my husband?" Looking back I can see how God was preparing the way for us to be together. We were meant to be a part of each other's lives even before he or I knew it." - Ashley A special thank you to the vendors who helped make this day so special! Ceremony + Reception: Bissell Tree House Catering: West Michigan Caterers Chairs: Baker Tent Company Couple Photos Location: John Ball Zoo Flowers: Amazon Flowers Last weekend, we were able to go see Hillsong United play in Chicago and it was pretty incredible. If you ever get the chance to see them in concert, do it! So many people were there who wanted to worship God alongside Hillsong and I was in awe at the whole experience. I started freaking out when I got this shot - "OH MY WORD I CAN'T BELIEVE I JUST GOT THAT, THAT'S THE BEST CITY SHOT I'VE EVER GOTTEN!!!" Boy, am I glad to have a man who can keep his cool while he drives with the passenger screaming over snapshots. <3 Lauren Daigle opened up for Hillsong and let us all know that this was the last night of their tour together. They all did so incredible. I know it's not the same as being there yourself, but here's a video of one of the songs they performed during the night. Like I said, it was incredible and I'm so glad we were able to go! I began getting to know Ivony when she reached out to me last semester about assisting me on some of my portrait sessions so that she could see what it was like and learn more about photography. Since then we've become friends and she is such a great person to have in your life! So sweet and kind, and always an inspiration about keeping God first in your life. Last week we did a mini session in one of the vineyards in Berrien Springs and I love the way they turned out! If you're interested in scheduling a mini session in the vineyards, send me a message and we can talk details + scheduling! :) If you're interested in learning more about running your business or just photography in general, I would love to help you! Email me about scheduling a mentoring session at [email protected]!
