I’ll be the first one to admit that I was a little skeptical of the most recent Instagram update, and not the biggest fan of the way it’s been used so far. We can post multiple images now? Is that really necessary? However, I didn’t want to completely dismiss it and knew there must be a way to use it to gain your business more exposure. So I’ve come up with a few ideas for my fellow creative, so you can use the update to your advantage! Before + Afters This one just might be my favorite. Now, instead of posting images side by side, you can let users interact with them more. Most of your clients won’t understand all of the time you put into an image, so give them an inside look! Behind the ScenesI’ve come to learn that followers love a good behind-the-scenes photo. And for me, it’s always been a little hard to choose which one to use! Don’t be afraid to add a couple of BTS photos at a time now – or, you can pair a BTS with the final product, for them to really marvel over what it can take to get the shot.
Now that I’ve shared some of my ideas, I want to hear yours! Tell me, what are your favorite things about the Instagram update? How do you plan to use it? Share in the comments, or send me an email at [email protected]

Charles + Emily are one of the sweetest, most thoughtful and wonderful couples I've ever worked with. We had the streets of St. Joe to ourselves and wandered around town taking their engagement photos a couple of weeks ago. Charles flew to Michigan from California for the weekend, so that we could get their photos taken! And they specifically requested that we do some shots in a coffee shop, which made my day! I'm so excited for their wedding later this year, and am looking forward to exploring their hometown in Pennsylvania - Congratulations Charles + Emily!! Their advice to engaged couples: Emily: Love is a choice. If you choose daily to love each other- no matter what you’re feeling in that instant - you open yourself up to a world of happiness together. Charles: I want to add to this but I don’t think I could put it more beautifully. Are you recently engaged? I'd love to celebrate with you too! Send me an email for my free wedding guide and to schedule a complimentary consultation!
E: [email protected] Last year was filled with some pretty spectacular Seniors who are all going places. And this year I'm excited to work with more! I'm now scheduling Cap + Gown sessions for 2017 College Grads, and would love to put your name on my calendar. These are a few of my favorite images from last year!
To learn more about Cap + Gown sessions, email me at: [email protected] :) Last month I had the opportunity to meet with Elena of Elena Cuellar Photography to take some portraits for her in the city! She is the sweetest girl, and I could tell right away that she treats her own clients like gold. One of the things that brings me joy is being able to connect with other creatives, and I'm looking forward to more coffee dates with this one! If you're interested in booking a portrait session, email me at [email protected] - I'd love to work with you!
These two light up the room when they're together. They have a passion for God and zest for life that is uncontainable. What began as a high school friendship, soon evolved into a 7-year plan by their sophomore year of college - which ironically only lasted 3 years! I'm so grateful that they've been a part of my life, and had a blast spending time with them for their engagement session! Can't wait for the real deal coming in June! #nomorestahling2017 Their advice for engaged couples: Talk about the hard stuff before popping the question: communication, finances, family, life goals, decision-making processing, etc. Take pre-engagement counseling if that helps. For us, getting engaged meant that we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together from there on out. Be sure of that when you make the decision. Above all, be sure to have a partner that shares your values and beliefs. Are you recently engaged? Let's celebrate!
